13 August 2013 The NEB wrote to 131 Aboriginal groups to inform them of the project and the potential for establishing a hearing process [Filing A53513], [Filing A53520] and [Filing A53522].
16 December 2013 Trans Mountain filed its project application [Folders B001 to B024: Folders 2451003].
15  January2014 The NEB began its Application to Participate (ATP) process 15 January - 12 February 2014. The NEB received 1006 ATPs for intervenor status. Of these, 400 were granted intervenor status, and 452 were granted commentor status. The NEB also received 1111 applications to be a commentor in the hearing. 2 April 2014 The NEB determined the project application to be complete, released Hearing Order OH-001-2014 [Filing A59503], announced the hearing participants [Filing A59504], and released the Factors and Scope of the Factors for the Environmental Assessment [Filing A59505].
16 April 2014 The NEB released 64 draft conditions for information purposes [Filing A59688].
10 June 2014 Trans Mountain confirmed a new preferred corridor through Burnaby Mountain for its proposed delivery lines [Filing A60995].
15 July 2014 The NEB announced an excluded period from 11 July 2014 - 3 February 2015 to allow Trans Mountain to file studies and information on its new preferred corridor through Burnaby Mountain [Filing A61777].
27 August 2014 The NEB began hearings for oral traditional evidence from five Aboriginal groups in Edmonton, Alberta, 27 August - 4 September 2014 [Transcripts: Folder 2498240].
8 September 2014 The NEB began a supplemental Application to Participate process specifically related to its new preferred corridor through Burnaby Mountain 8-24 September 2014. The NEB received 48 more applications to participate [Filing A63853].
9 October 2014 The NEB hears oral argument from the City of Burnaby and Trans Mountain on Trans Mountain’s 26 September 2014 notice of motion and notice of constitutional question [Filing A63063] about access to Burnaby Mountain to complete studies. [Transcripts: Folder 2498240].
16 October 2014 The NEB began hearings for oral traditional evidence from eight Aboriginal groups in Chilliwack, British Columbia 17 - 24 October 2014. [Transcripts: Folder 2498240].
27 October 2014 The NEB announced additional hearing participants (i.e., 4 intervenors and 29 commenters) as a result of its second application to participate process [Filing A63853].

28 January 2015 The NEB heard oral traditional evidence from one Aboriginal group in Calgary [Folder 2498240].
27 May 2015 Intervenors filed written evidence.
12 August 2015 The NEB released 145 draft conditions for comment [Filing A71776].
18 August 2015 Commenters file letters of comment, including comments on draft conditions (378 Letters of Comment received) [Filing A71500].
20 August 2015 Trans Mountain files reply evidence, and written argument-in-chief, including comments on draft condition. [argument is Filing A72236].
21 August 2015 The NEB hearing panel postponed oral hearings planned for Calgary (24 August), and Burnaby (9-30 September), and announced it was striking the evidence prepared by Mr. Kelly from the hearing record. A copy of the hearing panel’s decision letter is available here [Filing A72283]. The hearing panel also directed Trans Mountain to provide by August 28, 2015 a list identifying all evidence prepared by or under the direction of Mr. Kelly, and advise whether it plans to replace this evidence.
28 August 2015 Trans Mountain filed a letter with the Board indicating that it would replace the evidence prepared by Mr. Kelly by 25 September 2015. It also provided a list of evidence prepared by or under the direction of Mr. Kelly [Filing A72352].
24 September 2015 The NEB announced an excluded period for the review of the Trans Mountain Expansion Project beginning on 17 September 2015 and ending 8 January 2016, to acquire replacement evidence for that stricken from the hearing record [Filing A72730]. 25 September 2015 Trans Mountain filed replacement evidence [Filing A72774]
22 October 2015 The NEB issued a procedural direction announcing it would hear oral summary argument from Trans Mountain Pipeline on 17 December 2015 in the NEB Hearing Room, Calgary, Alberta. The panel would hear oral summary argument from intervenors in two phases: first, between 18 and 29 January 2016 at the Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre in Burnaby, British Columbia; and second in the NEB Hearing Room, Calgary, Alberta between 2 and 5 February 2016 [Filing A73355].
1 December 2015 Intervenors file supplemental written evidence in relation to replacement evidence.

17 February 2016 Trans Mountain files final written reply argument [Filing A75548]
19 May 2016 The National Energy Board’s (NEB) found that the Trans Mountain Expansion Project is in Canada’s public interest and recommends that Governor in Council approve the Project, subject to 157 conditions [Filing A77045].
