Eastern Alberta System Mainline (EAS ML) Control Valve and Crossover Project

Project Background
NGTL GP Ltd. (NGTL GP), as general partner on behalf of NGTL Limited Partnership has filed an application for the Eastern Alberta System Mainline (EAS ML) Control Valve and Crossover Project.
The proposed project involves the installation of a pipe crossover assembly between the existing nominal pipe size (NPS) 48 EAS ML Loop No. 2– Matzhiwn East Section and NPS 30 North Lateral Extension Loop No. 2– Cessford Section to provide a secondary connection to the existing NPS 24 North Lateral and NPS 24 and NPs 30 North Lateral Loop for operational efficiencies; and the installation of a new control valve and the modification of existing piping and installation of some new piping within the existing Princess Compressor Station. This control valve and piping reconfiguration is intended to redistribute gas onto the NPS 26 North Lateral.
The Project will be located on both lands managed by the Board of Trustees of the Eastern Irrigation District (EID) and company-owned lands in SE 01-021-13 W4M and NE 13-020-12 W4M, approximately 6 kilometres (km) north and 10 km east, respectively, of Patricia, Alberta., in Newell County No. 4. The Project will require approximately 2.03 hectares (ha) of permanent new land and consist of approximately 0.49 ha for a valve site and 1.54 ha for a permanent access road. Approximately 9.37 ha of temporary workspace (TWS) is anticipated to be required for the construction of the Project, of which 3.90 ha of new disturbance and 5.47 ha is within existing right-of-way and/or existing surface disposition.
Project construction is planned to commence on January 2026, with an expected project-in-service date in April 2026.
