Public Comment Period – Trans Mountain Expansion Project
As directed by Governor in Council (GIC), the NEB has issued a Certificate and Amended Certificates to Trans Mountain Pipeline ULC (Trans Mountain). The issuance of Certificates does not automatically reinstate previous NEB decisions or orders required for Trans Mountain to begin or resume construction.
On June 21, 2019, the NEB issued a letter [Filing C00072] setting out a public comment period on a proposed approach that could be followed to resume the regulatory processes for the Trans Mountain Expansion Project (Project), including:
- Condition compliance [Document 3797398]
- Detailed route approval [Document 3796626]
- Routing variances [Document 3796962]
- Non-route variances or design changes [Document 3796964]
- Right of entry [Document 3796966]
- Orders for temporary access [Document 3796968]
Anyone may comment on any of the regulatory processes listed above and may wish to review the corresponding attachments that provide details about the status of the various regulatory processes, with links to relevant documents. These documents are intended to help inform your comments, which can be submitted online, via fax or mail until July 5, using the comment form [PDF 221 KB] [WORD 33 KB].
Following the comment period, the Board will decide how regulatory processes will be resumed.
The NEB recognizes that that the matters which are the subject of this comment period are unique and complex, and the volume of information is significant.
