NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. – Wilkin Lake Receipt Meter Station Project

Project Background

NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. (NGTL) has filed an application for the Wilkin Lake Receipt Meter Station Project. The project involves installation of a new 884U ultrasonic receipt meter, scour protection and associated facility piping, including: a 3.2 m x 15 m skid containing a meter run building and separator; a 2.9 m x 6.5 m instrumentation building skid; 1 m of NPS 4 meter skid piping; 4 m of NPS 10 meter skid piping; 1 m of NPS 12 yard piping from the customer tie-in to NPS 8 yard piping; 127 m of NPS 8 yard piping from the customer tie-in to the meter building, and from the meter building to the NGTL System mainline; and 3 NPS 48 sour gas bottles (36 m in total length - 12 m of NPS 48 pipe each). The project also involves, valves, instrumentation, controls, communications devices and pipeline appurtenances. All new above-ground facilities will be located within a fenced area. The project will be co-located with the existing NGTL Wilkin Lake Sales Meter Station boundaries, on existing freehold leased land in SW 34-072-09 W6M, approximately 11 km northeast of Beaverlodge, Alberta in the County of Grande Prairie No.1. No new land will need to be acquired for the construction of the project. Temporary workspace is not anticipated to be required.

The metering facility will establish a connection between the customer’s gas plant to the NGTL System and tie-in on the NPS 20 Grande Prairie Mainline – Huallen Section. The project will have a maximum operating pressure of 8450 kPa. Project construction is planned to commence on 21 May 2024, with an expected in-service date in July 2024.
