Indigenous Engagement

Indigenous Engagement

We use a cooperative and respectful approach, based on the recognition of the right to self-determination, to engage with Indigenous peoples in all aspects of our regulatory oversight. We are working to transform the way we work with Indigenous Peoples recognizing their unique cultures, knowledge and histories. Meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities makes us a better regulator by supporting better decisions, improved safety and environmental protection, and effective issue resolution.
