Portal Municipal Gas Company Canada Inc. – Application for Leave to Abandon Pipeline Licensed under Order XG-P160-53-93

Project Summary
Portal Municipal Gas Company Canada Inc. (PMGC), has filed an application for leave to abandon the approximately 0.0043 km of NPS 3 pipeline (PMGC Pipeline) from the SaskEnergy Incorporated (SaskEnergy) meter station located within the province of Saskatchewan at LSD 02-01-01-05 W2M to a point located within LSD 02-01-01-05 W2M near the Canada-United States border. PMGC proposes to remove all surface equipment along with a small section of underground and aboveground pipe The existing outlet valve associated with the SaskEnergy meter station will be isolated to create physical separation as required by CSA Z662:23 – Oil and Gas Pipeline Systems section 10.16.2 (Buried pipelines), between the abandoned pipeline and any in-service piping. The below-ground valve located on the Canada-U.S. border will be removed and a cap will be installed on the piping.
The proposed abandonment activities are anticipated to commence in May 2025, or as soon thereafter as is feasible. The work is anticipated to take approximately four weeks to complete.
