Purpose: Provide an update on the Arctic Offshore Drilling Review to the staff of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI)

Presentation (NEB):

NEB provided introductory remarks, which included a general overview of the scope and phases of the Arctic Offshore Drilling Review, the gathering and analysis of information, and the production of a report.

Follow the introductory comments Mr. Audla identified a number of items, including the following:

  • the importance of consulting with communities which would be most affected by offshore drilling for oil and gas
  • the importance of having interpretation for all Arctic Review public meetings
  • the role and mandate of the Nunavut Tunngavik Inc., in relationship to the Regional Inuit Associations
  • interest and concern about offshore drilling that has occurred off the west coast of Greenland
