Regulatory Framework Plan 2024 – 2027

The CER has just released our Regulatory Framework Plan for 2024 – 2027.
The plan includes all the projects we are working on to improve our regulatory tools over the next few years. We will be updating several of our regulations and guidance documents to make them more efficient, transparent, effective and responsive.
Some of the projects we are focusing on include:
- Onshore Pipeline Regulations Review
- Filing Manual (Environment, Socio-Economic and Lands sections) Review
- Cost Recovery Regulations
- Predictable and Efficient Processing and Assessment of Negligible-Risk and Low-Risk Projects
- New regulatory guidance – Involvement of Indigenous Peoples in Emergency Management
The projects included in the Regulatory Framework Plan align directly with our four strategic priorities:

- Reconciliation and Implementing the UN Declaration
- Competitiveness and Regulatory Excellence
- Preparing for the Energy Future
